Residents Medical arranges Research Fellowships for U.S. and international medical graduates in order to strengthen their candidacy and to increase their proficiency in basic sciences, translational research, and clinical trial research. Many residency programs value research experience, especially academic programs. We provide research opportunities in multiple specialties and in multiple states throughout the U.S., in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, General Surgery, OBGYN, Radiology, Orthopedic Surgery and others. All of our research fellow opportunities are co-located with residency programs.
The time you spend doing research (6-12 months) will benefit you in many ways. During the fellowship, each candidate will have the opportunity to submit a research paper for publication in a prestigious medical journal, as well as an opportunity to present a poster presentation at a national, international or didactic conference. Networking with the Chair, Program Director, Chief Attending Physicians and Primary Investigators will be an inseparable part of your research experience. Moreover, your extraordinary efforts and hard work will add value to your credentials, allow you to be recognized through publications and presentations and serve as a key factor in building a great relationship with the Program Director and his/her team that eventually could consider you for a residency. An interview would be the best outcome of your research, and we will prepare you for that moment by providing an intensive interview preparation session, revamping your CV/PS, and advocating for you. By featuring your publications in your CV and presenting that experience during the interview, you will impress the interviewing program director and show him/her that you went the extra mile to devote your efforts to the specialty of your choice and compensate for some inconsistencies or gaps in your credentials.
Keep in mind that after you pass your USMLEs and receive hands-on clinical experience, research work will help you explore career fields and demonstrate your interest towards a specific specialty and provide you with an experience that you can talk about at the interview to stand out amongst your peers..
